Juniper and Rose Hip Concentrated Serum
Crafted with the deepest love of nature and all that she gives.
Wild harvested juniper berries and wild rose hips are infused slowly into luxurious, nutrient dense and fast absorbing Camellia seed oil
Crafted in small batches and always fresh. This magical highly concentrated serum can be used topically with a wide range of benefits. Safe for use from head to toe.
Chapped, cracked lips and wind burned winter cheeks.
Acne, athlete's foot, warts, skin growths, cystitis, psoriasis, eczema.
For young children we recommend the milder salve version of this remedy. However, this concentrated serum may be ESPECIALLY effective for the ever so hard to get rid of... dreaded... molluscum contagiosum.
May reduce the appearance of wrinkles and cellulite. Nourishes skin deeply and quickly. Camilla seed oil is one of the fastest absorbing oils available. This is why I chose to use it for this serum. It will not clog your pores or leave you greasy.
Effective relief of sore muscles, aches and pains. Especially those associated with inflammation and arthritis.
We recommend our concentrated Juniper Rose oil combined with deep tissue massage for even deeper relief of pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and chronic pain from injury.
TO USE AS MASSAGE OIL: Camellia seed oil is a very luxurious (expensive) oil. We use ONLY pure, cold pressed, organic Camellia seed oil in our concentrated serum. It is NOT diluted in any way.
To make massage oil: Blend 1:4 with the carrier oil of your choice.
Because healing herbs should be available to EVERYONE not those who can afford it. We encourage you to use your own carrier oil to stretch your supply if you’re using this oil for deep massage or to remedy rheumatoid arthritis pain. Coconut, Grapeseed, Avocado & Almond oil make very good carrier oils. Mix 1 part concentrate with 4 parts carrier oil for massage oil.
This serum was created to treat my own rheumatic disorder. Warm it up (never over 100 degrees) massage into the area that causes you discomfort and pain. Remembering to inhale to exhale deeply. Close your eyes and visualize the source of your pain exiting your body with each exhale. Allow the pain to leave. Give the pain an exit from your body through your breath.
Why Camellia Seed Oil:
Camellia seed oil has almost the identical molecular weight as our skin. As a non-comedogenic oil it quickly penetrates the skin and hair without leaving an oily residue; a true dry oil. It is also known to have more antioxidants than other botanical oil. It contains UV protection due to the polyphenol compounds. Full of vitamins A, B, C and E and abundant in oleic acid that regenerates the skin it is perfect for all skin types. Its properties add moisture to soften and make the skin more supple as well has containing anti-inflammatory properties.
Why Rose Hips:
Rosehip oil is rich in antioxidants and polyunsaturated fatty acids, like linoleic acid, which are imperative for preventing the breakdown of cell membranes in the skin. Strong, healthy cells act as a barrier to prevent bacteria from invading the skin, which can lead to outbreaks and infections.
Rosehip oil is rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants, which are integral for tissue and cell regeneration in the skin. It’s no wonder that the oil has long been used as a folk remedy for wound healing, as well as the reduction of scars and fine lines.
Rosehip oil is rich in vitamin A. Vitamin A is made up of several nutritional compounds, including retinoids. Retinoids are known for their ability to reduce hyperpigmentation and other visible signs of aging with regular use.
Rosehip oil also contains both lycopene and beta carotene. These ingredients are known to contain skin-lightening properties, making them staple ingredients in many skin-lightening products.
Rosehip is rich in both polyphenols and anthocyanin, which can help reduce inflammation. It also contains vitamin E, an antioxidant known for its anti-inflammatory effects.
With this in mind, rosehip oil may help calm irritation resulting from: Rosacea, Psoriasis, Eczema and Dermatitis.
Collagen is the building block of skin. It’s essential for skin elasticity and firmness. Your body naturally makes less collagen as you age.
Rosehip oil is rich in vitamins A and C, which are both necessary for the production of collagen. Rosehip has also been shown to inhibit the creation of MMP-1, an enzyme that breaks down collagen in the body.
Natural exfoliation with rosehip oil can help reduce dullness and leave you with glowing, vibrant skin.
That’s because rosehip oil is high in Vitamins A and C. Vitamin A, or retinol, encourages skin cell turnover. Vitamin C also aids in cell regeneration, boosting overall radiance.
Rosehip oil contains a wealth of essential fatty acids, including linoleic and linolenic acid. Fatty acids help to keep cell walls strong so that they don’t lose water.
This serum is truly a gem in our apothecary. Having access to fresh harvested ripe juniper berry is a gift from nature. Only available to use now that we have moved to the Ozarks and can finally utilize our native flora. Our juniper and rose hips are harvested wild, but not ‘wild crafted”. They are harvested by hand from our own land. 100% sustainable, renewable, organic and COMPLETELY NATURAL. These ingredients are harvested and brought immediately to infusion. There is NO fresher product available unless you’ve made it yourself. Our herbs NEVER sit on a shelf. They are added to the oil immediately after harvest. After 1 week of cold infusion the oil is brought to 100 degree F for 24 hours to increase the potency, but never hot enough to ‘cook’ the herbs or oil. The peak of potency. The aroma is so fresh. You’re gonna love it!
Organic Ingredients: Juniper leaf & berry (Juniperus Virginiana) Wild Rose Hips (Rosa Arkansana) Camellia seed oil, Calendula flowers, Rose hip seed oil

There is ample proof that that botanical medicines have been used for thousands of years, and it is reasonable to believe that they were also used by primitive man to survive diseases, and the rigors of aging.
None of these products have been evaluated by the FDA.
Many botanicals offered at Starfish Honey are recognized in the United States and foreign pharmacopias. Many of them have been discarded for stronger, more certain, synthetic drugs, or other reasons.
Modern science is now reevaluating many of the old time botanicals, and searching jungles and distant places to seek remedies from aboriginal races.
The future of human medicine may very well rest in the methods of our ancient ancestors.
