Echinacea Seed
Echinacea has long been a staple in the apothecary and holistic medicine cabinet. Also known as Purple Cone Flower, this heirloom variety has uniquely large centers and brilliant vivid color. The flowers you see in the photos are the same plant these seeds are harvested from. It’s truly a lovely specimen. Everything about this plant says hearty. Thick stems and gurthy flowers that hold their shape sturdily when dried.
It’s also more tolerant of cold that many varieties of echinacea that I’ve grown in the past. It’s been a willing producer all the way through Southern California December. This one is a keeper and I’m excited that I’m able to offer this specific variety as my first echinacea seed offering.
