The moment I saw one of these at an heirloom seed festival in Northern California I was hooked. I knew I had to grow them. They quickly became one of my favorites. I’m a fan of baking “pumpkin pies” out of any pumpkin other than a sugar pie pumpkin. This practice has lead to the discovery of a whole host of squash that make a better pie than your standard little pie pumpkin. This jumbo pink banana squash is definitely on my “Squash for Pies” list.
The Pink Banana Jumbo Squash is enormous with pink orange skin. It can grow up to 4 feet long and weigh up to 70 pounds. It has a sweet and fine-grained flesh.
