Ace 55 is a vigorous tomato plant that produces red thick-walled globe-shaped tomatoes, which average about 8 ounces each. It is resistant to cracking as well as many plant diseases. This variety is one of the few low acid red varieties and matures in 80 days. Indeterminate.
Ace 55, developed at the University of California in Los Angeles, is one of the few low acid red tomatoes; it also has excellent resistance to disease and cracking. First offered for sale in 1950, Americans valued it for being among the first open pollinated, multiple disease resistant tomatoes.
